Today is the 35th Anniversary of Lieutenant Kerry's testimony to the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Senator Kerry commemorated that event with a speech at Boston's historic Faneiul Hall. This speech is one of the the sharpest post-election attacks by any Senator against the Bush doctrine, and well worth a read for any progressive who opposes the war; the lies that led us to war; and the belief that Bush's permanent war justifies his imperial presidency.
Thirty-five years ago today, I testified before the Foreign Relations Committee of the United States Senate, and called for an end to the war I had returned from fighting not long before.
